Innocence has a charm,
Special and unique.
It knows its mind quite wonderfully,
Is not afraid to speak
And when it does, such truth bestows,
Enlightened exclamation!
Forthright, honest, close to Source,
Illuminating intention.

Marvelous. Yes, I love how children can see right through a fraudster. Pray their innocence is not taken advantage of.

They own it. But we can have it too, sometimes. And then the future’s brighter.
I’ll decapitate anyone who revokes a child’s innocence. Just sayin’. 🙂 x

There is a beautiful read called, ‘The Clowns of God’, can’t remember who wrote it. In essence it speaks of all children but particularly children with additional needs as being God’s gift to all mankind, to reserve innocence forever and illuminate understanding and wonder in others.
It’s also a fabulous story. But that particular message in it always moves me.
Emily is a gift. a beautiful gift to us all.
I’m glad you could relate to the poem. My own amazement at children’s capacity to retain innocence, even in the face of adversity, is observed by me every day as a teacher. They never cease to amaze me.
My hope is we all can retain something of that quality.x
