Any time I’m pained at all,
I try for normal code,
Believing, if I act it well,
I’ll be back upon the road
That keeps me sane and fanciful,
On which I travel well.
When hurting pulls and tolls, I try
So hard to ignore its bell.

I can relate to this. As I don’t have a day without pain due to renal complications. You carry on and live life though and try not let it pull you down. Excellent poem x

Thank you. I’m sorry you have constant pain. That is something I don’t know how I would cope with. You are right in saying we carry on and live through whatever our pain may be. Maybe we only get the burdens we can carry. I don’t know. But you seem brave and stoic in the face of your pain and that is something that strengthens you deeply. Hugs to you in your difficulties. We are all united in our life experiences. One way or another.x

Thank you for your kind words but i wasn’t saying it for sympathy. I was just trying to help you understand why I can relate to your poem and how and why it touched me. My mum used to say no matter what life’s throws at you there is always someone worse off so count your blessings and I do everyday. So no sympathy need honestly I have so many positive things in my life so i can deal with pain being a little negative one.

Oh, I didn’t think for a minute you were. Sorry if it came across like that. No, I admire the fact that there are so many people here whose posts I read who cope everyday with pain of one sort or another. And as you say it helps us relate to one another’s words. The fact that you do make it relative to all other blessings is one that we all can emulate. Your mum is a wise woman.x
