    1. This one must be the teacher in me. Number processes. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Also known as plus, minus, times, share. Every kid knows that school is governed by these for the duration of their school life. I was just thinking that life was full of little calculations. :)x

    1. Do you like that pop up thing? I find it really annoying. Like a barrier to reaching people’s pages. 😉
There’s obviously a reason I haven’t fully embraced Twitter. Too few characters to work with. :)x

      1. You can go in and change it on your admin page. I am not sure how I did it, but I think I got it from Opinionated Man. I will look it up, but as far as we are concerned, I think we still have to go through it. I also wondered, as did Trey, if this is having an effect on our views. The first few days they started this, our views were off the wall. Now mine are back to normal, but I have done the change. Let me look up how to do it, and maybe one of us can write about it again.

      2. I know you can change certain settings. I just find it irritating having to go through hoops when everything seemed fine before. I went into the forums to complain! But, so far, nobody from WordPress is saying a peep. Plenty of others are though. ;)x

      3. Yeah, I know how pain in the ass this all is. I find it frustrating when it is something I need to upgrade, change, or buy new. It is the whole ‘the customer is never right’ crap. I grew up with the complete opposite, and I guess that is why I had so many customers who came back and asked specifically for me. I tried to teach this to the younger generation, but I don’t know if it ever got through when there were so many other managers who didn’t see it this way. They would actually fight with the customer! This blew me away the first time I saw a manager do this. I hardly ever had the issue of a customer being wrong. Even if they were, I would find a way around it, and we ended up agreeing to disagree. But now days, it is all the customer’s responsibility to do all that is needed to keep up.
My kindle is the same thing: there is an update that is needed, but I hesitate to do it. It says the next time I use the Whispernet it will download the update. Not! I have used it tons of times since I have seen that the update was there. Then last time I went through the process to do the update, I had to have a woman at customer service walk me through it over the web. I had to do four updates to get to a place to do the current update. That was only a couple of months ago, and they have a new update already. Crazy making!

      4. I find that every time I have to deal with a call centre about a mobile phone or what not. I think they are deliberately obtuse and obstructive to put the customer off. Makes me want to pull them through the phone. So much for customer service. ;)x

      5. We call that the Bitch (not Beatch) Slap, or in the males case, the Pimp Slap. They all need them, except for those from India, they just need better education and be able to tell me where they are from. Jeez, when I ask that question, you would think I was from the CIA or something. I hate to tell them, the CIA took all my brains so I most certainly would not be from there.

      6. I’ve sometimes found myself laughing down the phone out of sheer frustration and bemusement. Going, ‘Are you kidding me? Are you serious?’ Like what the hell is going on here?
A bitch slap or pimp slap you say? Have to work on that one. Just have to figure out where and when. Sure there will be plenty of opportunities in the lead up to Christmas. :)x

      7. I know what you mean about just laughing. When I call it is after I tried everything I have been taught by previous issues. So, when they ask or say try this, I always say, I have done that. We go thru this for about 10 questions, and then they realize why I am calling them. Then, now don’t laugh, I get ‘let me get my manager’. Thus, they can’t fix my problem and I am too savvy at this point for them. I am so upset at this point I could probably have an aneurism with my blood clot issue. Would I get to sue them, don’t think so. My mum says I shouldn’t get so upset, but recently I heard some of her calls which are not necessarily about technical issues, but even billing, and she gets the pass around, then finally tells her story to the right person, after telling the same story at least 5 times. I am not joking: Wizard and I counted the other day while sitting in the living room. She was so pissed when she got off. What sucked for her is since she is doing the Church thing, she couldn’t swear like me, so she had to bottle it up. Sometimes one needs to swear, just like crying, to get it out. So, I often speak to managers, or managers of managers, or try everything including standing on it, throwing it at the wall, tossing it out the window, etc. Usually this does it: I am done with the problem because I get a new one of whatever it was. LOL

      8. I know! Does my head in too. ‘I’ve already tried pressing this and resetting that. Just give me an answer! Or let me talk to someone who knows anything. Even their name!’
Your poor mammy. See, I was told by my aunt that her priest informed her that it was better to swear than to batter folk! So I run with that one. It works for me.:)x

      9. Ok, I think this what he said: go to Settings; then to Reader Settings; then down to “For each article in a feed, show” and pick full text. I think that is what the change is so people get the full story automatically. When you click on my stories, what happens? Besides the excitement at reading something else I have found to be life changing. LOL

      10. If I click on your header or the word count I go straight to your home page which is what I prefer. If I click on the post title the pop up appears and I can read the whole post there. But I don’t want to read the whole post there. I like going to sites and having a browse. I just think it’s a pain and no one is listening to the complaints, it seems.x

      11. Wow. I thought that was it. What a waste of time that was. Well, shit. I have no idea how to change it. Yeah, I agree, I don’t want to read the whole post from that pop-up reader. Do you think I should go in and change it back to summary?

      12. I’ve set mine to summary. I don’t think the pop up lends itself to visitors and browsing. But then people might just choose not to bother at all. Kinda six and half a dozen, maybe. ;)x

      13. Well, I will leave it where it is for now. I am having more readers actually reading the stories. That is what I want, not for own numbers, but for the content that others have put together. I feel these issues and stories are important. So, I will see if it continues to keep up.

      14. You know what really bites for me: when I am reading a story off the reader, then check my notifications, go back to the reader and it takes me all the way to the top again. Is there any way to get this fixed?

      15. Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. Irritating. I don’t think they’ve thought this one through at all. And it doesn’t work on my kindle. If I click the pop up it just disappears. A pain.x

  1. I read this as the life of a child from conception to birth and on into life….and also a reminder to parents to enjoy the moments. No? The only part I struggled with was the first line, “Ecstatic little death”
