I have recurring dreams.
One involves a house. It’s not always the same house but I know it’s where I live. Doors figure largely in these houses and dreams. I’m always coming across new doors in unexpected places, opening them and being delightfully surprised at what lies within.
The houses are always large, sprawling affairs with corners and corridors and annexes everywhere.
Last night ( well, 5a.m. when I got back to sleep!) I had another of my house dreams. As usual, it was a large house on many levels. I was speaking to my husband in one of the rooms then went to the lowest level of the house to lock up.
One of the main exterior doors had no key though and I was worried that I couldn’t lock it. Then realised it wouldn’t make any difference anyway because the wood of the door was so weathered and damaged, anyone could gain entry easily with a firm push.
I didn’t know what to do so I went out of the door to the outside where gardens and hedges and paths lay and found my way round to the other side of the house and walked in another door.
I found my husband there and told him about the damaged door with no key and that I’d also noticed a few shutters on windows were blowing in the wind. He sighed and told me not to worry, that he’d fix them eventually. When I queried about what could happen in the meantime he told me to stop worrying.
I went back to the broken door to see if I could secure it in some way but went out of it again and, once outside, found myself looking in loads of cupboards and drawers. I was inside one of these cupboards when an old friend of ours came rushing past and I shouted on her.
She said she had come looking for me as she had overnight visitors and needed to borrow some bedding. And why didn’t I come on over because I knew these people too. I said no but she could borrow what she needed. I started pulling out blankets and sheets, she found a canopy that was in pieces and I shoved all the bits of that back into a drawer. And off she went.
I woke then.
I’m pretty certain I know what the significance of this dream is. I don’t need an analysis so don’t bother. But you could take part in a poll. It’s my second one. You may select up to three options. Or not. Up to you. 🙂
cracking up here…and voted x

I’ve never done one like that – you’ve given me an idea for a future post!

I replied to your last comment and that thought just struck me too after hitting reply ‘cos I’m looking at your archives. And I thought, Suzie could do a poll, add it into your last post. They’re actually quite easy to do. Your IT bloke could show you too if need be. 😉 x

I was thinking about that too – I might add it in…

I would. It would be difficult to go through so many of your posts and give an honest answer based on how many read. But if you took your current high volume archives and put those into a poll people could select multiple choice. I’ve just discovered you can do that. 😉 Also you have the option of letting people add any other favourites. You could even do two. One for posts. And one for the categories of posts readers favour most. Hmmm, might do that myself. 🙂 x

Wow, that’s definitely something I need to look at!

It does give you more work. But you’ve got all the figures in front of you so it might be easier than waiting for peeps to read through the archives and remember. 🙂 x

I want to be able to see who has voted for what so I can include their links in the final page – can I do that with the poll?
LikeLike
Hmm, I really don’t know. But what you could do is ask those who have voted to insert their links in the comments section ‘cos comments are still open. That way you can have their links and still know either how many voted or percentage of vote spread. Should still work out fine. I would have no hassle voting then adding my link. Covers all bases. 🙂 x

Does the poll allow you to see who has voted for each one?

I don’t think so, no. Go to add poll. You have to create a poll. You can add as many answers as you want. You can also select whether you want to see number of people voted or percentage of vote spread. I chose percentage of vote spread for this one. there are a couple of other options including type/design of layout of poll. Then save it. You can then insert it into your post when ready. And it will remain saved for future use should you wish it. Give it a bash. It’s quite fun to do. 🙂 x

Why wasn’t there a button to click that said ‘yes, I realise spirit is talking to me but I’m ignoring it so spirit has to keep giving me the dream’ ? 🙂 I am curious though, of what feelings did you have upon awakening as you were remembering the dream. Happy, sad, frustrated, elated. The images you describe can be very affected by the emotions that go with them. If your happy it may be some delightful discovery about to happen in your life, but if it is frustrated there may be something your not happy about those discoveries in your life. The emotion (and how it specifically relates to you) really affects what the dreams mean for you. And I’m definitely not trying to interpret the dream as I believe the dream and the feeling with it are for YOU, and only you know the meanings of different things to you. Two people can dream about a snake, one will be ‘petrified’, the other goes ‘big deal’, so it always is whatever it means to the dreamer! (I was only going to give a quick comment **sheepish grin**, honest!)

‘sheepish answer’ responds. I know what it means. But I will give more thought to the feelings that accompanied it upon wakening. Spirit speaks right enough. Thanks, Mark. 🙂 x

Ask spirit, before you go to sleep, to allow you to understand more meaning within it when you wake! (And with that lovely smart mind of yours it could be a lot so you may need a nice dream diary or a recorder (like I do…I describe it on my site in ‘The Dreaming’))
Sleep tight my friend, may it be full of spiritual gifts and understanding! Namaste

that was way back in the beginning when i first ‘met’ you, I remember. you were advising the recorder and I was trying to figure out how hubby would go with me whispering into a machine in the middle of the night. I keep my pen handy although there is always the tricky business of being able to read it in the morning. This one occurred after I went back to sleep at 5a.m. and I remembered it really clearly on wakening. I’ll certainly ask for additional guidance. Can always do with additional help. thanks again, Mark. 🙂 x

They say dreaming of a house means dreaming of your mind. Puts a whole new spin on things, eh? 🙂

Mark has a keen awareness of Spirit and endeavours to keep me on the right path. He’s some guy. And you’re right, there are quite a few things to follow up on. Could be at it a while.
I’m now wondering where you live. It’s 2p.m. here so I’m guessing you’re either a late to bed Australian or American. Or maybe a not quite so late to bed Canadian. Or I’m totally wrong on all counts. 🙂 x

Late to bed Australian, if you count that I’ve live here most of my life. But I was born in Bradford and the moors are in my blood and I miss them more as each year goes by. You see, it’s cool, I have the air con on and I can think for a little while. The heat it bakes my brains, along with fibro fog. No-one told me it was so blood hot and we have another coming. I wish I could hibernate until the weather’s cool. Now I’ve just convinced you I’m another whingeing Pom!
Bless,
Susan x

And here’s me wishing I could hibernate until the weather is warmer. Greener grass and all that. So a Bradford lass in far flung fields. And fibro into the bargain. I speak with a few other bloggers who have this condition. It sounds like a nightmare. i hope you’re able to get some rest and dream of the moors you miss. Be well. x

You’re most likely spot on. And have been for some time if the dream keeps recurring in different ways. As Mark say, sometimes it takes a while to penetrate if you’re a bit slow on the uptake like me. 😉 x
