#SOSVENEZUELA Please Read

And it goes on….Reblogging for humanity

In Her Words Avenue

I write with tears in my eyes, tightness in my chest and fire in my fingers. I speak to you who are reading this, to help me pray and support my beautiful country Venezuela during these difficult times.

Students are fighting for their rights to speak up against the government system and express their freedom of speech. Why are they assaulted, harmed and killed by the authorities that are supposed to protect them? Why parents, single mothers and elders are made to wait in long lines to find the most essential things to live like toothpaste, paper toilet, soap, milk, rice and medicine to say the least? The TV channels are censured to only show what the president has to say? Why does the social media completely shut down when exposing reality? Why do the people have to live in constant fear? Why can’t my generation and the next one…

  1. It seems that civilization is regressing. We become less civilized as the years go by…more wars, more bloodshed, more murders, more inhumanity towards mankind. Certainly, the word should go out so that people will become aware and raise their voices in protest. We can send film on.

    1. Thank you. It does seem that way at times. But maybe the outreach necessary for change will make up for the lack of compassion evidenced in so many places. Maybe. And there’s always hope in action. x

      1. Feck sake! That was just mean. Have to go and check that one now. Good with the first four letters but after that…well….anybody’s guess. Wait and I’ll see if it works for multiples. 🙂 x

      2. Yes. Scotland. Unfortunately, prejudice is everywhere if not of one kind then another. So it’s not just America, I assure you. I saw an appalling You Tube video my daughter posted on Facebook where two Glaswegians racially abused a street busker because he was black. I was so ashamed and angry at their ignorance and hate. Thankfully, other people intervened and the two were arrested and charge.
We have so much to do to eradicate prejudice in all its manifestations.x

      3. Change is just so slow. But it comes. I spoke to you earlier about my two gay kids. And how they just get on with their lives. Everyone knows. No one bats an eye. They’re both in relationships. It wouldn’t have been possible even in my young days. So it does come about. Slowly. But inevitably.

At least I think I’ve posted the right link. 😉
I’m also on the joint FB page with yourself and Shaun and Ed. Just been a bit quiet there is all. 🙂
        What’s yours?

  3. I do feel for this woman and people around the world who have to live under the shadow of poverty, violence and homelessness but we have the rich countries of the west for the majority of the worlds problems. The countries of the west are greedy and tjis greed is going to break the west and its going to end in tears.
Before we can move forwsrd and try and help other countries we need to put our own houses in order.
The countries of the first world look wonderful on the surface but you can only polish a turd so much before you start to smell it, we need to cure our own problems, cure our poverty, cure our homelessness, before we attempt to help others, you don’t send a man with a boken arm to help another with a broken leg.
There is not enough good will to go around because of the state of our world, I pray every day for this world and the hate in it asking the Lord for peace, it will come one day.

    1. I think we can do both together. We might not be able to do anything directly but we can certainly speak on their behalf when authoritarianism removes their means to do so. Although I see the Met are speculating/negotiating about using water cannons to disperse demonstrators. Boris the bam in there doing what he does best.
Plonkers of the world unite! At the bottom of the ocean. They can blow bubbles there. 😉 x

      1. Yep that’s me, you should have heard me driving around Edinburgh and some guy in a red van kept tooting at me for not being fast enough from the change of light from red to green, I was going to stop and ask him why he keeps reminding himself that he can make toot noises and would he like me to insert it anally so he won’t forget, but my wife said I wasn’t allowed, some people think just because I have a disabled sticker on my back window they think I am a little old man, not 6ft of me 🙂

      2. Lol. Your wife must keep you out of so much hot water. Drivers can be so rude. What some people do behind a windscreen that they’d never do in ordinary life. And so tempting to respond in kind. 😉 x
