Three weeks and two days to go. Sports day over (for once the weather held). Only one drop -in Parents Evening. Doubtless a couple of Report re-writes (depending upon how pedantic my Head is being). And then…six weeks of what will probably be dull, overcast weather to look forward to.
Next year a Year Three class, which the parents will see as a demotion from Year Five ( I must be crap).
Happy days indeed!

Not so long to go, Chris. Isn’t it weird though the perceptions folk have if you teach the younger classes. Never crap! I know plenty who won’t go near that age group. Right enough, I know others who won’t go up the school either. Cowards! 😉

Um..I’m confused momus? Aren’t they acting like the children do when they charge out the gate on the last day of school…all excited that this barbaric practice of study and learning is finally over? 😀
Who are the wardens and who are the prisoners….really! 😀
You have my total thanks for a very thankless job…at times. Ok, most of the time. I wouldn’t do it for quids…I’d end up in a loony bin…or jail…or both 🙂
I bow to a sacrifice that I will never judge, for it gives much reward, and a hell of a headache 🙂

There are aspects of the job I dislike, Mark, and there are times I could be carted away to either of the locations mentioned! But, for the most part, I’m fortunate to be doing something I love doing. I remember watching a programme about the stock exchange and thinking I wouldn’t last a day – that looked and sounded mental.
I’ve had loads of jobs since I was 13 and some I’ve enjoyed but none as much as teaching.
Still need those holidays though – asylum from the asylum! 🙂
