My little slice of Friday heaven just got so much better with this piece of deliciousness. What weekends are for. 🙂

Experimental Fiction

To close my eyes
And see the stars
With night so laid
Before me;
I could not ask
For more than this
While laying here
In glory.

The thickness of
A passing dream
The space between
A heartbeat;
The length of time
From now to then
That makes the night
So complete.

To taste the moon
On lips of blood
And touch the skin
Of beauty;
To gaze in awe
At heavens form
Displayed in you
Before me.

Who knew a night
Could offer so
The chance of sweet
I give my all
And so succumb
To your revealed

Fruit of the Spirit: Gentleness

Susan invited me some time ago to take part in a series she was writing on the fruits of the spirit. Here is gentleness. The whole series is available at Susan’s blog.

Susan Irene Fox

God’s Gentle Grace

Paul, in his letters, continually reminded followers that we are heirs of God’s grace, and because of that inheritance, we are to, “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,” (Colossians 3:12) and “to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.” (Titus 3:2)

James, the younger brother of Jesus knew about gentleness, but only after his older brother died for his sins. The Bible tells us that Jesus came to visit him upon his return (1 Corinthians 15:7). What a conversation that must have been; forgiving and loving enough to place James in the room with the disciples when the Holy Spirit came upon them all. And James learned an incredible lesson which served as the foundation for the remainder…

Assistance Needed

A wonderful blogger I follow http://mindlovemisery.wordpress.com/2014/03/23/should-i-start-a-prompt-site/
is starting up a new site with prompts for all sorts of bloggers. She’s also looking for some help in facilitating the site. I haven’t got a clue but maybe there are some who have?
There will be prompts for photographers/artists as well as poets and writers of various genre including children’s stories.
It’s the start of a new venture and another avenue with opportunities to extend readership as well as tackle new and old styles.
It’s just beginning so it would be lovely to be in at the start of a promising new opportunity.
Her header is “We’re all out there, somewhere, waiting to happen.”
It says a lot about who she is and her outlook on life.

Mindlovemisery's Menagerie

I am looking for individuals willing to assist with my new prompt site. Ideally I would be in charge of Sunday Monday and Tuesday.

I would like someone for

Wednesday’s Haiku/Tanka Share

Thursday’s Short Story Share

Friday’s Fairytale Share

Saturday’s Shadorma Share

If you agree to help I will add you as an author. I will host all the challenges until which time I acquire recruits.

All welcome at Coalition Pancake Toss (terms and conditions apply)

Lol! Tossers indeed. But then we knew that. 😉 Irreverent take on the biggest tossers of all.

The Evening Harold

rsz_103185196_269810c A bunch of tossers: sometimes this stuff writes itself

In a gesture of goodwill the government has invited everyone to the House of Commons today for pancakes. However before making their way to Westminster people are being urged to read ministers’ statements about the pancakes in order to determine if they meet the criteria.

A Truly Chlling Move: Part Time Workers To Face Housing Benefit Sanctions DWP Confirms

Cruel Britannia.
No apologies for letting Kevin say it again.

the void

what-next In breath-takingly savage news, it has been reported that the DWP plans to stop Housing Benefit payments to low paid part time workers if they fail to carry out ‘work related activity’.

When Universal Credit is finally introduced, those earning less than the equivalent of the minimum wage for 35 hours a week will be forced to constantly look for more or better paid work to qualify for in-work benefits such as Tax Credits and Housing Benefit.  Part time workers could face being sent on workfare in the hours they are not at work and will have to prove to Jobcentre busybodies that they are constantly looking for another, better paid job.

Currently sanctions are usually only inflicted on unemployed people, lone parents or those on sickness or disability benefits.  Sanctions are often imposed for the most trivial reason such as being a few minutes late for a meeting with…

Reach Out!

May we all be prepared to reach in either direction.

Healing Your Heart From Within

Reach out, reach out, I will always be your friend,

always in my heart, a strength I will send,

don’t let those fears, be your lonely guide,

don’t let your heart, be burnt away inside,

don’t ever think, the things that you feel,

are not so important, they are not so very real,

when it comes too much, and everything a task,

you hide it deep inside, always wearing a mask,

the days become a struggle, it’s hard to keep at bay,

to take another breath, one more time in the fray,

but here my beautiful friend, let me give a plea to you,

I love you even more, if you ask to help you through,

I see your every turn, that black dog is lurking deep,

testing every part of you, the climbs are very steep,

I see your silent agony, please just call out my name,

you mean…

Baseball fans super angry … who sang “God Bless America”? … a SPIC??

I was messing around with a fellow blogger about acronyms and she used one I didn’t know ROFLMPRAO. Well, who does? But I’d told her I googled definitions if I didn’t know. So I googled this one and laughed with her that it was one of her own blog pages that came up.
Then I stopped laughing because I started reading. Then I clicked on the first link. Holy shit! For real?
A proud young American singing his heart and soul out for his country. And slated because of ignorance. I know this is an older post relevant to last year’s ball game. But does prejudice disappear so quickly? I think not.
We have so much to learn yet it seems. So many prejudices to overcome.

It Is What It Is

Last night was the 2013 (July 16) MLB All-Star game.

Ah, America’s past time!

Who doesn’t love a good baseball game? And what better way to open up America’s game then with a heartfelt rendition of “God Bless America“?

And … wait, a minute.

Who is this guy coming out to sing “God Bless AMERICA”?

Wow! Who is this un-American Spanish Mexican spic illegal foreigner terrorist singing “God Bless AMERICA” at a game of baseball, our AMERICAN past time?

Why, it’s New York born, United States citizen of Puerto Rican descent, Marc Anthony! …. and so on, and so on, and so on …..

***This just shows how uneducated these Americans are ….. Puerto Ricans have fought & lost their lives in your wars, the Island is a “colony” of your “great” country!!

Where did you guys go to school? Says a lot about those…
