Magic And Miracles

who has time for magic that needs spelling

miracles

more meaningful

have power

who has time to wait till cauldron bubbles

miracles

don’t need minutes

or vague hours

miracles can happen in a moment

a gasp of breath

to question

is this real

puffs of smoke

invisible

still gather

while magic takes some time to set its seal

who really wants to hear

the witches’ cackle

the haggard breaths and warts

that spell their names

one drop of faith

the potion is as potent

magic happens, daily,

just the same

magic

hold the universe

it daily wakens

within your hands

it’s there to weave all spells

all power bestowed in fragments

all components

a legacy of magic

miracles

All In The Stars

There are stars in the sky and they’re shining for you

The way that I wished them to do

And, though some are falling, releasing the spell,

The lights of the others hold true.

There are rays so fantastic directed on you,

That’s all that I hoped they would do

And though you can’t see them, averting your eyes,

Their heat must be felt through and through.

There are dreams in their beams empowering you,

That’s all that I dreamed of, it’s true,

And though disbelieved as some sleepers awake

I’ll keep on wishing and dreaming for you.

Once Is Not Enough

I fell in love once.

It was futile in the end.

It didn’t last.

But I’ve loved since then.

I cried some tears once.

I shed them for a friend.

They flowed so fast.

I’ve cried again.

We fought a war once.

A promised one to end.

Peace didn’t last.

Wars fought since then.

I hoped and prayed once.

For violence all to end.

I held on fast.

I prayed again.

We had some faith once.

Belief that we could mend.

It faded fast.

We’ve believed since then.

We built a world once.

With love we had to tend.

That didn’t last.

Needs must try again.

Dare To Just Do It!

You’ve got to have a dream. Life demands it.

It’s why you wake up willing, full of fight.

You’ve got to have a dream, like South Pacific,

Dream your dream with vigour and with might.

Fill your heart with loving and with longing,

Close your eyes and visualise the goal.

Dare to dream, I fucking well command it!

Dream, believe and act upon your soul!

For Rene http://nae50.wordpress.com/2014/09/06/a-way-to-live/ and  all who have and choose the dream. Just do it! We can do it together.

Blind Ripples

The time will come, as sure it must,

When flesh and bones return to dust.

Ere this happens to mine state

I challenge life, what may await

Round corners I have yet to veer,

On roads and paths that I must steer

As true to self as I can be

While hurting none as best I see.

The trouble with my self-direction,

Modus operandus, introspection,

Is, I can’t see what acts I do

May taint the world for me and you.

I struggle on as blind man feels,

Alerting senses to what’s real,

Believing that my ripples cast

May count for something that could last

Into eternal consciousness

And, somehow, one day I’ll be blessed

By loving light that comforts soul,

Suffuses dark when all is told

In story of my life on earth,

That task completed had some worth.

Reunion

Cry gently, my love, in parting,

loud tears mar the time we shared as one.

 Weep softly, to music,

errant chords plucked at only just begun.

Tread lightly, my sweetness,

fragile heart may break at one more tap.

Embalm me, my angel,

fly to me, wing’d aura be your guiding map.

 Know nothing need part us,

no distance, time, nor space created in between.

 Be ready, alert to

my sighs arising, soft slowness pitched to keen.

 Stand steady, my fortress,

strength of Everest to your scaling feet.

Awaken my dreaming,

shift silken drapes, in dawn’s rays we meet.

Inner Eye

I built castles in the sky,

You destroyed with sneering eye,

The clouds I wove to cloak my soul

You dispersed – a pointless goal-

To prove to me that dreams and  flair

Were naught but smoke adrift in air.

But still I build a staircase wide,

Earthen bricks joined side by side

With fairy dust and faith and hope,

An optimist’s plaited, tangled rope

Suspended from the tower ledge,

Escapee’s route for lover’s pledge.

And, in the abseil from that place,

My eyes stay fixed on grace’s face,

Formed in clouds in my own sky,

Where none may blind my inner eye.

Faith In One Feather

Once, feather requested

for token belief,

his faith so diminished by

Life’s common thief.

His symbol of grace,

renewed by the milk of

liquid enchantment, formed

creamy white silk,

wrapped now in thoughts

that all may be well,

imagined, held clearly till

cause-effect weaves its spell

of tropical bounty

toughened by strife,

sweetened by truth of

renewable life,

where possible visions

enact in the mind,

tacit compliance

till treasure he finds.

No Friend

I’m working my way through the 25 day music challenge set by Twindaddy and tomorrow’s question asked for a piece of music associated with a former friend. I could no more post the song I associate with this person than I wanted to think about her. Someone, in fact, has already posted the song. But she popped into my head because of the reflection given on what that question meant to me. This was no friend. Neither ‘former’ nor latterly, although I did believe so for a number of months when I was too stupid to know better. She hurt someone who is my best friend. She pretty much hurt everyone she came into contact with. This was a dangerous person to know. I’m posting this and hope the memories fade back to where they belong. In the past.

I’d all but forgotten her

and the rank taste of her lies,

the pouting lips,

vicious eyes,

vitriolic vomit spewed

on foes and friends alike,

smiling hands on hips,

her fetid spite,

getting her rocks off

with slanderous stones cast,

malevolent glee

in days past.

I’d almost forgotten

I’d ever known one

so vicious,

pond scum,

bottom feeder,

bred for cauldron’s pot.

I won’t remember.

Best I not.

Happy New Year

We recollect the year,

Those loved and lost,

Decisions, right and wrong,

We count the cost

In growth and worth,

Another year in passing

In friendships, families,

All love amassing,

In trials, tribulations,

Fought and won,

All effort poured in faith,

This year near done.

Some hours now

To ponder life anew,

No promises, just

Hope and love renew.

Confidence in

Coming days ahead,

Constancy, belief,

No sense of dread.

A providential one,

A year filled with

New treasure,

I wish you this and more

In heartfelt measure.

Happy New Year, dear
