Concubine

concubine picture

In her master’s eyes she sees his favour,

A smouldered glance reveals she is the one.

Fevered touch and kiss she craves to savour.

Tonight he chooses well and she has won.

But wanderlust, disquietude advance,

Foreboding, cast aside for someone new,

Karma calls, lends only this one chance.

What is a woman spurned so forced to do?

Poisoned lips she presses to his temple,

Whispers words of loving, serves to please.

Thus patronized, he begins to tremble,

Falls, willingly, she upon her knees.

Bejewelled dagger, in the boudoir, sparkles,

Moonlight glinting in dark eyes, on fixed smile,

Planned madness, maniacal her chuckle,

His supine head, eyes glazed, gone for a while.

‘Be still, sweetheart,’ softest words placate,

Unknown end, his in comfort and in leisure,

Exquisite agony propels his fate,

Life’s end erupting with his mighty pleasure.

With ebbing breath he gasps to tell his story,

Tale recounted oft, and oft too late,

‘My love, you were heart’s one true glory.

For you I foreswore others as my mate.’

With swift recourse and gesture lost to reason

She plunges bloodied dagger into heart,

Bled with him, though mortal life was over,

Together now, in death, no one dares part.

Sometimes……

For every moment there is a rightness;

Sometimes that moment is now.

For every question there is an answer;

Sometimes that question is, ‘how?’

For every problem there’s a solution,

Though sometimes found without aim.

For every man there’s a woman;

Sometimes the question’s the same.

Beginnings – Transformations

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/category/photo-challenges/

Forgive my awful illustration….I don’t do photos. Any photos on my blog will most certainly have been taken by someone else. Really must learn how to take some. Hope my poem says more than my ‘photo’….just thought I had to put something in to qualify for the challenge. 😉

Alternatively, I could do what I did before and ask you to envisage the photo in your mind. Here we go. The cosmos – Hubble pic – existing in your mind while life takes you on a journey of discovery and warps your perceptions as it unfolds. Chaos ensues. But life and love and choices make for greater clarity and …..eventually…..matter becomes clearer.

Don’t really need to bother with the poem now. Bugger!

Oh here it is anyway.

I’m getting me a camera!

Birth ends waiting.

New life from death.

Destruction preceding

Creation.

Phases evolving,

Conceptions

And believing.

Pain

Stages

For everyone.

Mists concealing

Embroiling, rolling

And revealing

Beginnings,

Transformations,

Changes  of

Choices.

And Being.

Our Song

It’s possibly true there are no answers, just questions that abound.

At least that’s how it seems, sometimes. I’ve questioned then I’ve found

That nothing makes a lot of sense and even when it does

Shit happens for no reason. I wonder then because,

If I can’t make the heads or tails of all that’s going on,

What chance is there I get to sing my own special song?

We all have one, I have no doubt, a song made just for one,

Born with us and grown with us; desperate to be sung.

A harmony, that only we, can hear within our soul,

Hummed in time to all we do, trying to make us whole.

Listen well. I’ll listen too and maybe we will hear

The lyrics and the melody, pitched to make us cheer

At all the ways we can express what lies way deep inside.

Then maybe, we may fine-tune life and sing our song with pride.

Forfeit Love

There are questions that need answering

But solutions are elusive,

Emotive connotations and

Feelings too profusive.

Resolutions reside in space,

Seeking earthly shore,

So wonderers and ponderers

Will wander, lost, no more.

There are lovers, born at distance

Whose paths will never cross,

Where destinies and fortunes

Will suffer at such loss

That cruellest blow did strike at two

To know and then to part,

 Forfeit solace, soul reunion,

Two minds, two loves, one heart.

There are some who will believe that love

Finds another way,

To sublimate the earthly plain

So two, as one, may stay.
