Magic And Miracles

who has time for magic that needs spelling

miracles

more meaningful

have power

who has time to wait till cauldron bubbles

miracles

don’t need minutes

or vague hours

miracles can happen in a moment

a gasp of breath

to question

is this real

puffs of smoke

invisible

still gather

while magic takes some time to set its seal

who really wants to hear

the witches’ cackle

the haggard breaths and warts

that spell their names

one drop of faith

the potion is as potent

magic happens, daily,

just the same

magic

hold the universe

it daily wakens

within your hands

it’s there to weave all spells

all power bestowed in fragments

all components

a legacy of magic

Reunion

Cry gently, my love, in parting,

loud tears mar the time we shared as one.

 Weep softly, to music,

errant chords plucked at only just begun.

Tread lightly, my sweetness,

fragile heart may break at one more tap.

Embalm me, my angel,

fly to me, wing’d aura be your guiding map.

 Know nothing need part us,

no distance, time, nor space created in between.

 Be ready, alert to

my sighs arising, soft slowness pitched to keen.

 Stand steady, my fortress,

strength of Everest to your scaling feet.

Awaken my dreaming,

shift silken drapes, in dawn’s rays we meet.

Catching Grace

If you can close your eyes

and catch grace

in the image of a face

ever or never seen,

inhale tenderness

fragrant with soft murmurings,

let their whispers drift

through internal alleyways,

reaching and searching

inner outerlimits,

breathing ever more deeply,

for one precious moment

infusing all

– not one drop to be lost –

you have channelled love,

paused

on the threshold

of heaven,

looked into a soul

and known.

We Became

You

saturated me,

poured scented unguents on oldest wounds,

rotated my mind

with fingertips

tracing

temples’ ragged edges,

breathing calm into my hair

from behind

where I could not see

the belonging in your eyes

but felt it flow,

airborne and tactile,

as arms around my whole.

Your

healing

wrapped round my relief,

touching

deep,

reiki

to soul’s silent

pain.

You

fed my thirst,

quenched my need for soothed release,

old child to new woman born,

fast-forwarded time by touch and breath

and whisper’d nothings

unspoken.

Your

being

became as mine,

tendered lips

proferring union,

chosen in one single, breathless kiss

to flame a glowing taper.

You

became

me

as I flowed

into you.

You

left on a breath

with part of me,

two divided

but one.

We became.

May Music, Day 2 – Fairground Attraction

So Twindaddy wants to know which song I associate with my last ex-boyfriend.

Slight problem.

My last ex- boyfriend is my husband of nearly 27 years. How did that happen? Don’t ask me. I was enjoying the rollercoaster at the time.

Every time.

Every. Single. Time.

From that first meeting.

Every time you looked.

Came near.

Dared to speak.

Every time.

The possibility.

I clenched,

knuckles white,

rode the slow ride,

a semi-death,

anticipating climax

in descent.

Every single time.

A fairground attraction.

Deathly fear in

chamber of horrors

that today,

this moment,

would be

the last today.

Waltzers spinning…..

…..whirling mind…..

wondering,

Is this love?

Then we would ride

rollercoaster.

Up, Up, Up!

Neverending upness…..

…..till that peak.

A descent of

Was this love?

I wondered.

I queried.

I asked

of someone,

anyone.

Was this love?

I begged for answers

to an inevitable future.

No right or wrong  way

of reckoning.

I wondered.

I queried.

I dismissed.

We paused.

We dated again;

the question ever present.

Was this love?

Was this

Animal?

We talked.

Is this love?

I heard her then.

Asking my questions…..

…..in a pub…..

…..in Glasgow.

And I asked,

Is this love?

We looked.

Paused forever

over

possible ever

or never.

And married

six months later.
