Reunion

Cry gently, my love, in parting,

loud tears mar the time we shared as one.

 Weep softly, to music,

errant chords plucked at only just begun.

Tread lightly, my sweetness,

fragile heart may break at one more tap.

Embalm me, my angel,

fly to me, wing’d aura be your guiding map.

 Know nothing need part us,

no distance, time, nor space created in between.

 Be ready, alert to

my sighs arising, soft slowness pitched to keen.

 Stand steady, my fortress,

strength of Everest to your scaling feet.

Awaken my dreaming,

shift silken drapes, in dawn’s rays we meet.

Whose Muse?

She wanders in

when she feels like it,

tarted up, sometimes,

as if every eye in the place awaited her arrival,

flaunts herself

in naked abandon,

flourishing syllabic resonance wherever

wanton desire cherishes her arrival,

poses idly, at times, to capture flash,

smiling, leerily, on red carpet.

Departing with a sneer, she’s

off to sun herself in Grecian myth,

knowing she is

forever wanted

and desired.

A tart to all temptress,

scourging soul desire,

panting wildly when afflicted,

reddened pout

to tease all suitors.

So they say.

So say many.

Some fast while awaiting, and

she’s laughing with margharitas in the sunshine,

leaving clouds fermenting overhead,

idly casting aspersions on your value,

burnishing her limbs with languid poise,

her footstool, your soul,

querulous and querying,

while no great loss to her.

So I say.

A lecher.

No more than any other

of her kind.

Nothing to offer

but illusion.

Still she squirms inside your worth,

dedicates sacrifice to poisoned thoughts.

A tramp, I affirm,

designed and dressed in alter ego,

famishing your soul

until you realise the truth.

Just a bitch,

in the heat of sunny and overcast days,

becalming doubts as her mood takes,

laughing as clouds of despair

part words from mind.

Trust tarnishes her tan,

embittered exchanged coin of nothing.

Shylock,

feasting on flesh that waits

for her arrival

while life demarks

her worth.

Transform

Slake, with gallons,

            from the lake

of deep tranquility,

find solutions,

            in the mind,

nurture serenity.

Cope with problems,

            amid hope,

despite complexity,

serve our causes,

            driven with verve,

remember levity.

Drink from life

            unto the brink,

too brief mortality,

cast futile fears

            or worries passed,

transform our destiny.

Plan for kindness

            when we can,

Karmic codicil,

not all choices

            need be fraught

nor made against our will.

Faith In One Feather

Once, feather requested

for token belief,

his faith so diminished by

Life’s common thief.

His symbol of grace,

renewed by the milk of

liquid enchantment, formed

creamy white silk,

wrapped now in thoughts

that all may be well,

imagined, held clearly till

cause-effect weaves its spell

of tropical bounty

toughened by strife,

sweetened by truth of

renewable life,

where possible visions

enact in the mind,

tacit compliance

till treasure he finds.

Hues

blue wands of enchantment

undulate,

casting my stars,

impassive arc, these

rippling waves

haze

muted

 lunar bow,

sovereign

brandishment

of divinity,

wielded power,

reclaimed in rainbow bright

Fractured Parallels

She let choice go

and wept with shifting weights,

balancing act of

surrogated days.

Laughter stroked the back

of pain’s atonement,

soothed the ache

of sometimes waking moments.

She gathered tears and gelled

the fragments found

of broken self on heap,

a mortal mound.

Inept repair for fractures

gone too deep,

a timeless wound

repaired by only sleep.

Eased sidestep to another land

her quest,

paralleled worlds where

multi options rest.

Chantilly Dreams

…and we drift

off into oblivion,

sheltering sanity and cost to trust,

reposed breaths taken to ease,

soughing breezes without,

chantilly draped eyes cease to view,

seeing only treasure scapes unfolding within,

spiralled connections,

vanilla’d comfort,

cream-coated tendrils woven in dreams…

Dawn to Dark

Whose shadow-darkened thoughts encroach and question,

Diminish dawn’s cockrow, dispel the day,

Worming into loam and taking root there,

Nightshade weed, asphyxiating prey?

 Invasive views, punitive to thinkers,

Banks of clouds eclipsing all sun’s beams,

Unsummoned guests disabling reason,

Recurrent words, distorted earthly themes.

Florid-faced to grey on one perusal,

Ashen breath obstructing air, extinguish torch.

Whose mind a firmament of pyrotechnic danger

Erupting in the sentinel’s night watch?

Where dreams are blessed with skies of bluest sunlight

Whose nightmares purge my soul with caustic fright?

May Music, Day 21 – Anything Could Happen

Every song I like or love is because they speak to me in some way. It may only be because of the beat or the rhythm. Perhaps because of memories they evoke. It could be that the vocals or instruments are so rhapsodic that I’m in awe. Sometimes it’s  because of associations they hold with people and times. It could be because of the words.

I’ve already posted my favourite song because it is also from my favourite movie and that was a question for day Day 11.

The title of this song, Who Wants To Live Forever?’ draws me in every time I hear it like no other song does. The lyrics remind me to live and to love. Now.

“Who Wants To Live Forever”

There’s no time for us,
There’s no place for us,
What is this thing that builds our dreams, yet slips away from us.

Who wants to live forever,
Who wants to live forever…..?
There’s no chance for us,
It’s all decided for us,
This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us.

Who wants to live forever,
Who dares to love forever,
When love must die.

But touch my tears with your lips,
Touch my world with your fingertips,
And we can have forever,
And we can love forever,
Forever is our today,
Who wants to live forever,
Who wants to live forever,
Forever is our today,
Who waits forever anyway?

But, as I’ve already posted this song, Twindaddy’s request for today must be another. I’m going for my favourite of today. It’s on the current in car CD and has been played to and from work every day this week.

On the way home today, with the sun shining, the skies the most gorgeous pale blue and only light fluffy clouds around – not a single rain cloud in sight – the thought of a four day weekend after tomorrow’s shift, a breeze generated by the open windows and this music on, I felt so happy. I’ve had all the depression I ever care to experience.  Life is for capturing the happiness in each day. ‘Who waits forever anyway?’ ‘Anything Could Happen’.

Hold On

Goodbyes sharpen sorrow sought in knowing,

Questions why and how death transmutes all time,

Farewells find pained pleasure in past knowing

Shared memories, now shrouded, once sublime.

Goodbyes taint the wonder felt in chances

Life would last and sad endings were a lie,

Farewell’s  truth, untempered circumstances

Lost, the fleeting moments, censured to die.

Tho’ goodbyes break hearts with swollen starkness,

Unsheltered from the form of wailing near,

Tho’ farewells fling souls to doom and darkness,

Whispered voices can ease our unshed tears.

Goodbye to fears and could have tales we told,

Farewell to grief, each heart the light must hold.
