No fortune,

Neither gold

Nor silver,

Forget rubies

And amethysts,

Love me

A river;

A fountain of

Meaning

In floods

From the oceans,

Surging

Unbidden,

Life-giving

Devotion.

Cast pearls to

The oysters,

Return metals

To ore,

Forgive non-commercial;

Money

A bore.

No best friend

The diamonds,

Glinting

Like ice.

Arms

And your words

Are my

Only vice.
