Far Away

Do you feel my arms around you

                                                            far away?

Need for physical contact to remember

You’re human,

A woman.

Can you feel my tears mingling with yours

                                                            far away?

Sharing your sadness and grief.

For the pain, the loss

In your life.

Do you know you are loved though

                                                            far away?

Human to human

Woman to woman

One love in life.

Close your eyes and wrap arms,

                                                            far away,

Around self and know that it’s me,

Hugging you closely, gently

And loving the humanity of you.

Know you’re loved by others still

                                                            far away

Distance merely an illusion.

Your needs are my needs.

The needs of the world.

Hugs and love from far away.

For Rene, especially. A very special lady. Fighting through pain and adversity with courage and humour.

And also for all who need the hugs. We all do.

Ease The Pain

Will my loving ease your pain? Do you need?

Does what I say make a difference? Will it feed?

Can anything matter if you ache?

I weep at hurts. For you I’ll take

The pain. Believing that it helps for you to know

That someone, I, care and want to show

Compassion and a willing open heart.

If it helps, pour it out, then restart

To find a better place, a loving state to be.

I’ll hold you in my arms and set you free.

I only promise love. That’s all I have.

More than I need, so let me give.

If anything is troubling, share it out,

Spread it wide and rest your mind from doubt.

There’s a world of love awaiting if you seek.

Don’t be afraid, alone. Trust and speak.

Don’t Be Alone

There are those who are lonely,

So desperately lonely,

Even when surrounded by friends.

There are those whose physical pain goes on

And they question if it ever will end.

There are those whose pain is an emotional one,

Those who ponder life’s end solution to ease,

The darkest of any confession.

There are those who carry a burden of guilt

And those with deepest depression.

There are those whose hearts seem

Broken in two,

Those whose hatred is well justified,

Whose angst and sorrow is boundless, but

It seems to eat them alive.

There are those who feel as others feel,

Hearts  full of despair

With righteous cause and frustration.

There’s sadness that feels like a terminal disease,

States to country and nation.

It weeps,

It seeps

Into pores

And floods,

There is hurt,

So much hurt,

It feels

There is blood.

There are those who imagine an end

Of all life

So suffering and sadness will cease,

Whose pleas on their pages

Know terrible loss

And pain that knows no release.

The hurt that abounds

Is palpable here,

A microcosm of earth,

Sharing distress and souls set on fire,

Crying for song of rebirth.

There are those whose posts are filled with good cheer

And those that say nothing at all

Of feelings or thoughts

Or what lives within,

Preferring a different recall.

But for those who are here

Whose very beings starve,

Seeking for someone to listen,

Bear in mind

That we all have these feelings.

It’s part of the human condition.

If no one is there to answer your needs,

No family or friend will suffice,

A message in private may help find release.

Do it and don’t even think twice.

I’ve no great answers

In fact, I have none,

Just a sense of the life that we share,

Please don’t be alone,

If you need a vessel,

Remember that someone is there.

It may not be me,

It could be another

But many there are who believe

That a problem full shared,

Whispered and heard

Is a problem that’s going nowhere

Except to be halved

Or quartered,

Diminished,

Maybe not ever to be

Over or finished

But lessened because

Someone cares.

So don’t be alone

Whatever your reasons,

There’s someone on here,

A man for your seasons

Or woman,

A friend,

A fellowship found.

Please don’t despair,

Don’t sink to the ground

Without looking up

Or inwards or out.

There’s someone for you,

Please just give a shout,

If only to curse at life’s

Little foibles,

Its terrors,

Its spectres,

Its myriad of troubles.

There are those who have offered this to me

And I’ve done the same in return.

You’ll know who to trust,

You may never need

But remember there’s always someone.

So when strength and solutions

Are quite overcome,

Sincerely believe

There is always a one.

Don’t be alone.

Please, don’t be alone.

Your Strength

Your strength

Astounds.

Reading

Your words,

Your pain.

You go on.

You focus.

And go on.

Not lost

Completely.

Absorbing

Hurt,

Channelling,

Reinventing

Self.

Words

Unspoken

Reveal

As much.

Your

Ability

To be.

Just be.

So much

Strength

Revealed.

So much

Hurt

Concealed.

Only One Result

So many ways to count the cost.

So many different types of loss.

So many hearts that know such pain.

So many afraid to love again.

So many tears that people cry.

So many ways to live or die.

So many hopes and dreams delayed.

So many debts to fate unpaid.

So much hope to find again.

So much love contained within.

So many better ways to live.

So many avenues to give.

So many cannot receive such gift.

So many refuse to be uplifted.

A grateful sort of loving flows

When love given,

Received,

Believes

And knows.

So many choices,

One result.

Love is all….

Love is all.

A Combustible Cold

iceberg melting

Cold as ice,

Heart frozen,

Arctic love’s betrayal.

Haunted by

All memories

Future tenderness must fail,

Till fire of passion

Burns.

Such flame!

Torch

To melt

Relieves the pain.

Drip by

Liquescent drip

Reveals,

Heart

Intact, complete,

So heals.

Ardour

May thaw

The frostiest heart,

With kiss of

Desire

Hurt departs.

Loving blaze,

Freely given,

Each flame,

Caresses,

Calls,

Combusts and claims.

Disclaimer!  (These photos are the copyright of others’ but unknown to me. Some are from national newspapers and others from private individuals. I will gladly allocate credit if claimed. The iceberg is free!)

With thanks to Mark’s Gallery for these pictures he posted, depicting bush fires currently rampant in Australia. He kindly obliged with photos of Fire after I had joked that I was going to write poems working my way through all the elements, having done some on Air and Water. These pictures, although of actual events, elicited in me an entirely different sort of response. My apologies if some of them are depressing! But some of them are loving and sensual. So a good balance I would say, eh?

Soothing Pain

A tender kiss to temple

Then roving to thine eye,

Blessing hurtful visions

With lips and quiet sigh.

Soothing touch on fevered brow,

Damp sweat wiped clear away,

A world of hurt inside thy mind

Stroking fingers, gently play

A quiet tune hummed softly,

Harmony to pain,

Cool palms on shoulders’ muscles,

Easing aches and strain.

Quietude and haunting mood,

Dimmed lights to quell the heat

Of angst-filled soul and searcher

Of other one to meet.

A world of tumultuous, tossing thoughts,

Lids closed against the image.

Send soul on journey, ether bound

Beseeching, paying homage

To glorious need, a heart so pure,

Seeking understanding love.

My prayers are soaring at your side,

Sent to one above.
