Save This Dance

Will you love me kinder, tender of my dreamscapes,

While passion flares will softness still hold sway,

Shall we dance with longing through the nighttimes

All fears and inhibitions held at bay.

Will we be such lovers on the dancefloor swaying,

Beat to beat, hearts tempoed to the tune,

Shall we weave and wax our words and feelings,

Silhouettes reflected in ballroom.

Will we tango footsteps, bodies fusing

Wilder yet though cherished in the dance,

Shall we meet upon the moonlit parquet,

Tender lovers teaching of romance.

Will the thrum of love keep right on beating

As planets twirl and sunlight filters through,

Shall divinity of the dance we shared in passing

Resist the light and save my dreams of you.

How To Undress A Woman

Now Brenda seems to think I’m saucy. Even when I’m not trying to be. Bloody hell, that was just a wee innocent post.  But it did get me thinking about saucy. 😉

How to undress a woman,

Well, I know there’s more than a few,

But for the purposes of clarification,

I’ll list my favourite two.

Begin first of all with your mind and your eyes,

Envision the beauty you’ll see,

Let shimmer of desire spark radiant fire,

She’ll recognise and want to be free.

Now, slowly, uncover each portion of flesh,

Kissing each part as revealed,

Tenderly nibbling on morsels delightful,

Till nothing more is concealed.

Or, hold hands to her head and kiss deeply,

Eyes firing with darkest emotion,

Then, quickly, with no hesitation,

Let four hands resist all slow motion.

One is smouldering passion,

With thoughts swimming round in your head,

The other is urgent, needs no commanding,

Doesn’t need even a bed!

How to undress a woman,

Many the answers there be.

But either of the two depicted

Work wonders for little ole me!

A Combustible Cold

iceberg melting

Cold as ice,

Heart frozen,

Arctic love’s betrayal.

Haunted by

All memories

Future tenderness must fail,

Till fire of passion

Burns.

Such flame!

Torch

To melt

Relieves the pain.

Drip by

Liquescent drip

Reveals,

Heart

Intact, complete,

So heals.

Ardour

May thaw

The frostiest heart,

With kiss of

Desire

Hurt departs.

Loving blaze,

Freely given,

Each flame,

Caresses,

Calls,

Combusts and claims.

With thanks to Mark’s Gallery for these pictures he posted, depicting bush fires currently rampant in Australia. He kindly obliged with photos of Fire after I had joked that I was going to write poems working my way through all the elements, having done some on Air and Water. These pictures, although of actual events, elicited in me an entirely different sort of response. My apologies if some of them are depressing! But some of them are loving and sensual. So a good balance I would say, eh?

Inferno

13

All fantasy, reality, fused in one,

Love revealed, to inferno does succumb,

A moment’s revelation and desire,

Devoured by flame of passion’s burning fire.

Gratified

At heaven’s secret gift,

Enlightenment

To cause all hearts to lift

Eyes unto the stars

So late at night

Revealing source of ecstasy,

Torture and delight.

All hope remains while

Breath is on this earth,

Razed in love,

Awaiting soul’s rebirth

Such fire rages

Consumes all very reason,

Blinds the eyes,

Temptation touches treason.

Love’s Throne

Trapped in arms too strong

Wrapped in love’s embrace

Tangled limbs entwined

Passion in each face

Dance to beating hearts

Thrum to music’s beat

Quiver to the rhythm

Please, oh please, entreat

Answers in each body

Found in all the questions

Mind’s magic conjures words

No others dare to mention

Defined in soul’s desire

Pleas for needs to quench

Unimagined blissfulness,

Two so; none can wrench

Two lovers when they find

A soul to call their own

Combined, as one, in unity.

Love reposes on such throne.

Dreams Of Love

To have a moment,

Taste one kiss,

Reveal all truths

In tenderness.

These are dreams of love.

To flutter by

When you lie sleeping,

Watching o’er you,

Safely keeping.

These are dreams of love.

To touch your skin

In day’s first dawn,

To look and to be

Looked upon.

These are dreams of love.

To lie together,

Side by side,

No illusions,

Nothing to hide.

These are dreams of love.

To recognise, in mind,

That you

Are other half

Of self, it’s true.

These are dreams of love.

To dance the dance

Of sweet devotion,

Each movement

Matching lover’s token.

These are dreams of love.

To meet in glade

Where no one’s near,

To whisper wonders

In your ear.

These are dreams of love.

To sing to tune

Of Aphrodite

With fire burning,

Passion mighty.

These are dreams of love.

To clasp your hand,

Feel yours in mine,

To gaze and thrill

At absent time.

These are dreams of love.

These dreams I have

Are all for you,

Revealed in darkness

Covered hue.

These are dreams of love.

Love’s Young Heart

Love’s young heart is broken,

The physical, a token

Of passion, panting in the night,

Heat of bodies, hid’n from sight.

Love’s young heart is hurting,

And questions, ‘What is trust?’

‘I love you,’ words were spoken.

Now ashes burnt, so dust.

Love’s young heart knows treason

And fears another mate.

The ‘what ifs’ penetrate the mind.

The heart decides to wait.

Love’s young heart knows hope.

It’s buoyant, bounces back.

It learns to love again, once more,

Unlike aged hack

Who tires of Cupid’s failures

And cries a flood of tears,

Cherishes their solitude

And misspent, lonely years.

Love’s young heart is gracious.

It bows its head in shame.

It learns that, sometimes, it is wrong

And tries another’s name.

Love’s young heart knows beauty

But beauty, born of face.

Love’s older heart seeks beauty too –

Serenity and grace.

Pleiades

Pleasing to the eye of

Passionate Orion.

Perfect in visual

Portrayal of form.

Perfumed wind and water

Plead to Zeus, Salvation!

Pixels, stars reborn.

Think I might have taken this too literally! 🙂

Notes and Words

The piano plays its note anew

And seeks the scale that rings out true.

A strummer thrums a simple chord

One singer sounds a beauteous word.

Musician, tell us of your song

Of words of love and life and wrong.

Compress our hearts with stories true

Of magic, mystery and you.

Reveal your treasures with a voice,

Music, banish extraneous noise.

Soaring songs on wings of flight

Crescendo, passion, dawn and light.

Tempoed grace on ballet shoes

Orchestral movements trace the muse.

Notes and words together played

Soothing hurts and spirits flayed.

Music, majesty and more

In notes and words upon the score.
