Star Musing

What tales are told in stars above,

How reflected here below,

What light extinguished in that plane,

Here leaving remnant glow

What universes stretch beyond,

Expand imagination,

What heavenly bodies once foretold

Splutter conflagration

How to attest our ignorance

Even as we learn

To reach beyond with minds, machines

Unto skies for which we yearn

How best to seize this knowledge

And such wonders so profound,

To be among the source of life,

Feet harnessed to the ground

How infinite the galaxies

From atom so compressed,

Energy empowered such

Thus our world is blessed.

What power so held by mighty force

That crushed one atom then

Created all, watched it expand

Source from way back when

A spot of dust became so vast

By massless, weightless form

Light from light eternal

Is this how we were born?

Arc Of Understanding

Rainbow arc

Hidden by clouds this rainbow,

Only a portion revealed,

Shades of light seen for a spell,

More often than not, though, concealed.

A glimpse of light in its splendour,

Multi-faceted hues. Like

Iceberg submerged by ocean so deep,

Clouds conceal all the clues.

Poached by encroaching darkness,

Storm clouds gather to quell

Hope represented by God-given sign,

Stark matter can do this so well.

Doomed to diminish in darkness,

Etched evanescence in skies

Disappears swiftly from unseeing eyes,

Photons buried in lies.

Luminosity destroyed by dullest of days,

Cast vision further afield.

There, by and by, different portion of sky,

Silver lining, ultimately, revealed.

Heavenly Light

Bring me no flowers,

Cry me no tears,

Think back, instead,

On all of those years

Of laughing and growing

And crying as well.

Remember those moments,

Your children to tell.

For life is a circle

That goes on and round,

Up here in my heaven,

Down there on your ground.

The illusion of death

Is all but just that.

People all thought the world

Was once flat.

The light permeates,

All atomic states,

I’m one with you still,

Your heaven awaits.

Fear not a devil,

Or some fiery hell,

God’s presence is luminous

And all hearts do swell.

I’m soaring as one in the presence of light,

The idea of hell is but unending night,

An absence of awe in glorious rays,

Interminable darkness for unending days.

Draw near the source, you know this, of course,

But a reminder is all to the good.

Bask in His wonder, proclaim it asunder,

For light to the soul is our food.
