Planning For Change

Poised and pointed skywards

Long time standing

Alive within the earth’s

Nourishment

Numbered with the angels

Intervention

Gods join in

For actions with intent

Open to the seasons

Rising meanings

Calling on the strength of

Heaven lent

Answers on the winds

Grateful for the

Energy that’s sent

Forget Love?

No one forgets; and I don’t forget.

How can we forget when we love?

It buries down deep; infuses our being,

Suffuses our senses; leaves our thoughts reeling.

Who can forget when they’ve loved? Even lost?

Why would we want to though love counts a cost?

But the cost that it counts is a price that, once paid,

Cherishes life and feelings we’ve shared.

It harbours belief in fortunes they tell

And harkens to kismet and spiritual bell.

It listens to prayers and hears when we call

It values our worth and shares out to all.

Hurts they will come from the knife edge of love, but,

Though razored through, we heal and behove

Love to all others, for once we have known

Amity in lives, it must then be shown

To all whom we meet, with a zest for our living,

A passion for life, a thought to what’s given

To others who seek a touch and a taste

Of what lies within all but proceeds from all chaste;

The fountain of life, with a stream gushing forth,

Channelling energy and life-giving source.

We bless and we keep those moments we feel

The love of another for love feelings are real.

Love lasts forever though some may depart

For love is eternal in soul and in heart.

Those gone now, departed, by death or from choice

Loved once, if but briefly, still cause to rejoice.

My mind is awash with the feelings I feel

A wondrous reunion with spirits, all real.

Those whom I’ve loved, those loving still.

That’s all. Just a force that works with free will.

Love’s never lost. Never I say.

For into the ether love travels and stays.

It lurks in the corners of those ever loved

And grows or diminishes as life takes its course.

But once it’s created in hearts and in minds

It flourishes, flies and source it will find

Where all may return to the plain we were born, till

All love shines in splendour, the most glorious dawn.

How Many Loves In A Lifetime?

There are those loved and lost to experience in the earliest days of youth,

Innocence seeking acceptance, failing, uncovering truth.

There are those for whom love is constant; family and friends, ongoing still,

Known forever, through thick and thin, warming the deepest of chills.

There are those met in passing on life’s journeying path who’ve taught a lesson profound

Moved on with their lives with a hug and a kiss; not forgotten but no longer around.

There are those of whom we’ve mistaken, not everyone so worldly wise,

Whose love the price is forsaken, love distorted, despised.

There are those in the world unknown, anonymous faces abound

But loved, nonetheless, in brotherhood. Love making the globe spin around.

There are those whose deepest convictions distrust the notion so pure

That love may be felt in many different ways. Love, only love, will endure.

There are those on whom love seems pointless, poured out, received, then wasted

Those for whom love is a bittersweet pill, not understanding how love should be tasted.

There are those whose trials in life dissuade any sense of true giving

Afraid to love and be loved in return, afraid it seems of real living.

There is eros, agape, philia, storge, so many loves to express,

A spiritual journey and physical; love experienced no less.

There are those for whom love’s a story, an expression of sweetest accord,

Enjoyed, vicariously, in leisurely pursuit without ever saying a word.

There are those for whom love is tarnished, all hope now a season of doubt,

Shivering sadly in hermit-like cave, not knowing what life’s all about.

Love, the varieties so wondrous, unendingly hurtful, of course

But full of all life’s potential when springing from life-giving source.

There are those for whom love’s confusing, testing the mettle of many,

A contradiction of love in its essence; love that springs always aplenty.

A fountain of love unending, giving, receiving in need,

There for all if willing to know, to absorb, the world to feed.

Love is the great contradiction with lessons for all us to learn,

No love ever given or received is lost; we all must love in our turn.

How many loves in a lifetime? Only one, the answer is true.

All love springs from source eternal. That’s all that love has to do.

As One

Strength will lend a voice

Amid noise and confusion.

In weakness, valour may dare.

In weakness, valour may dare

Scale mountains, fly freely

While fear still crushes bones.

While fear still crushes bones

And innards liquefy,

Fight or flee is chosen.

Fight or flee is chosen

Instinctively, unconsciously.

Protection and survival the aim.

Protection and survival the aim

Of life – to adapt, change,

Signify and glorify the spirit within.

Signify and glorify the spirit within,

Rejoicing in source and unity,

Recognising, in awe, invisible threads that bind.

Recognising, in awe, invisible threads that bind,

Drawing one to another, connecting the edges,

Expanding, creating anew the whole.

Expanding, creating anew the whole,

Intricately woven and bound,

Harmonised, synchronised, complete.

Love – A Definition

Love conquers

Loneliness,

Two become one.

Love conquers

Fear and heartache

For some.

Love conquers

Battles that rage

In each heart.

Love conquers

Hurts, betrayed

Far apart.

Love is

A mystery

Uncovered, united.

Love is

Supportive to

Spirits divided.

Love is

A wonder

To gaze on in awe.

Love is

The reason

We looked and we saw.

Love begins

When two hearts

Collide.

Love begins

When two souls

Confide.

Love begins

To show

A new way.

Love begins

Each dawn

Of new day.

Love suffers

Heartache when

Death plays its hand.

Love suffers

Fools, too proud

Or too grand.

Love suffers

For others and

Wishes them best.

Love suffers

Keenly at

Passing regrets.

Love is

The answer,

All questions it seeks.

Love is

Solution,

Each day and all weeks.

Love is

A gift

Bestowed from the source.

Love is

All beauty,

Revealed, of course.

Inferno

13

All fantasy, reality, fused in one,

Love revealed, to inferno does succumb,

A moment’s revelation and desire,

Devoured by flame of passion’s burning fire.

Gratified

At heaven’s secret gift,

Enlightenment

To cause all hearts to lift

Eyes unto the stars

So late at night

Revealing source of ecstasy,

Torture and delight.

All hope remains while

Breath is on this earth,

Razed in love,

Awaiting soul’s rebirth

Such fire rages

Consumes all very reason,

Blinds the eyes,

Temptation touches treason.

Disclaimer!  (These photos are the copyright of others’ but unknown to me. Some are from national newspapers and others from private individuals. I will gladly allocate credit if claimed.)

With thanks to Mark’s Gallery for these pictures he posted, depicting bush fires currently rampant in Australia. He kindly obliged with photos of Fire after I had joked that I was going to write poems working my way through all the elements, having done some on Air and Water. These pictures, although of actual events, elicited in me an entirely different sort of response. My apologies if some of them are depressing! But some of them are loving and sensual. So a good balance I would say, eh?
