Planning For Change

Poised and pointed skywards

Long time standing

Alive within the earth’s

Nourishment

Numbered with the angels

Intervention

Gods join in

For actions with intent

Open to the seasons

Rising meanings

Calling on the strength of

Heaven lent

Answers on the winds

Grateful for the

Energy that’s sent

Elemental Daughter

She can tell, by turns, which way the world blows,

Lips to air, deep breaths, she tastes, she knows,

Lets the Kaver finger hair and loose clothes,

Mistral rushes through her channelled pores.

She nor’westers within stones long risen,

Empower’d by the buffets in between,

Dances there with deities all borne in that scene,

Feels the pressure, coriolis weaned.

She can rise from rivers, balance water,

Atomic weights, compound all they to her,

She’s the breath, the elemental daughter,

Born, released and free forever more.

Crazy sort of lady is the folk lore,

Witch upon the wind and on the moors,

Bathing in the floods of fire and aether,

Shower’d, she of air, she lives and pours

Flesh to life and soul to all around, rotating,

Twirling dervish, live unto the end,

Controls and calms, by turns, all elements about her,

Every waft of current is her friend.

Listen when she speaks through thunder’d prisms

Wrap yourself in bounty born within,

She curls around all feelings, depths and chasms,

Feel her dancing, daughter of the wind.

Three Candles

born to be

three candles, restive,

splutter

aimlessly, in dance,

enclosed in red,

filter gloom within

one room,

still’d, silent

sounds below the level,

water-fed.

reflective balls

upon a surface

sounding

pops invisible,

they rise to air,

mellow’d

three-times

flutter’d darkness,

oblivion observed,

I wander there.

no one touches like

the touch of water,

submersion soft,

a sensual

soporific haze,

three candles, struck from one,

a scarlet wonder,

ending sweetly

waxen musings

on a rainbow’d melted day.

Carry Me

carry me under water, beneath eternal blue,

slip easily, sleek agility.

carry me on water, one penny for Charon,

transport tranquility.

carry me in water, bejewelled surface break,

dive and rise, erupt euphoric serenity.

carry me like water, absorb, replace

blood’s coursing, transfuse divinity.

carry me, drowned in your water, relive the cycle,

unite and fall, suspended totality.

carry me, compulsion, enthral my soul,

lush liquid inevitability.

Fey Tale

Ennobled rank

by virtue of affliction,

Self-condemnation masks

the pooling tears.

His challenge cup

once poisoned by a dragon,

Tormented by its torching;

burning sears.

Intrinsic to his quest

there lives a code,

No law may break his bones;

his strength engendered.

On steed of worth,

his face full-painted woad,

Armoured heart encrusted;

gems to render.

Immortal risk too far

he dare not try,

Though wounds of flesh

may bleed until the end.

Scarred soul he saves,

 thus he will not lie;

This, his one and truest,

loyal friend.

Alter-egoed grip

upon the reins,

Steadfast in irons,

soldered to his feet.

Another hero’s heel

in wounded pain

Adjunct to failing trial,

none to meet.

Through storms and mountain glens

he wends his way,

Howling tempest smothers

heartfelt cry.

No joy on earth to wish

his heart to stay,

All hope gone,

anguished wish to die.

Softest breathing kelpie

heard his pleas,

Veiled as creature

tempting to his fate.

Brought errant knight

upon his knees

Submerged his soul,

became his life-long mate.

Whisper when you travel

in the fey lands.

In winds and breaths of air

each curse is heard,

Capricious creatures cover

more than Highlands,

Their charm to hear

each pent-up, heartfelt word.

No Gems

Not a gem’s worth,

No fortune,

Neither gold

Nor silver,

Forget rubies

And amethysts,

Love me

A river;

A fountain of

Meaning

In floods

From the oceans,

Surging

Unbidden,

Life-giving

Devotion.

Cast pearls to

The oysters,

Return metals

To ore,

Forgive non-commercial;

Money

A bore.

No best friend

The diamonds,

Glinting

Like ice.

Arms

And your words

Are my

Only vice.

Soothes

Washed by waves of beauty

On the shore,

Caressed by balmy water

To the core,

Relaxed into the sands of time

And sleep,

Succumb unto unconsciousness,

The deep

Darker plains surrounded though

With light,

Relieving fear, engendered

By the night.

A welcome swell of ocean

Bathes my soul,

Cleansing warmest water

Makes me whole.

Elemental

On barrier reef

And rocks around,

Lost and damaged

Souls are found.

Shipwrecked there

When vessels floundered,

Gallant galleons

Pirated, plundered.

Bodies sank into locker

Where Davy tends and keeps.

Souls released to other element

Drown, they would, in deep.

So weaving in and out each crevice,

Howling to the gale,

Separated souls from corpses

Scream. No arms to wave or flail.

A mist rolls in, envelops,

Captures and absorbs,

Rescues deserted entities,

Soothes essence without words.

Carried out beyond the waves

Above the ocean blue,

Soaring seamlessly to find

And bring each one to you.

Along the way just one or two

Drip and drop from inside fog,

Dissolved into the watery one,

Lost to unknown God.

Rejoined with flesh, they gasp for air,

Mr. Jones will smile.

He’ll let them suffer agonies

But only for a while.

A mighty roar and awesome wave

Will crash against the shore,

Deathly ones expelled to earth

To try to search for more.

Reborn again to airy light

Lost souls in body pieces,

Searching, crying to the night

Till peace, at last, releases

To each their own fulfilment,

Each plan and every goal,

Endeavour, search, illuminate

Till one day all be whole

And entities and essences

Will join in one great mass

Diffused into etheric plain

As gracious ghostly gas

Ignites the love all shared by one,

Explosive in its nature,

Whirling whorls of fiery power

Such souls, all one, in stature.

The Well

The well invites with hollow echo,

Pennies dropped to wish.

Eyes closed to mental preparation,

Seeking fortune, luck or bliss.

Your voice returns your question,

Resounding vocal chords,

Answers not the seeker

With any useful words.

Its depth decries such faint attraction,

Luring eyes to hidden reach.

Plunge to find artesian source,

Freezing waters do not preach.

Drop into the deep solution,

Immerse in icy coat,

Flood the senses and the mind

Submerge then, languid, float .

Hidden core of beauty’s best,

Ensconced below the ground,

Salve of profound fascination,

Answers to be found.

Tokens offered to the deep,

Unending font of knowledge,

Worldly  treasures, minted coins;

Rejected by this college.

Ablution after ardent gaze,

Testifying heart’s desire,

These living waters do not dowse

The love that’s fuelled in fire.

Come, take my hand, together now,

Eyes open, looking under,

Such risk is worth the consequence,

Of minds that sometimes flounder.

Throwing pennies in the well,

Abysmal waste of time.

Throwing self in joyous union,

Makes the proverbial reason, rhyme.
