I soared there
for a second
in time,
hovered briefly
in the millenia
of consciousness,
eagle-eye internal
to the words
found wanting,
glided on an updraft,
invisible to view,
felt in the breeze,
spiralled to gravity’s
reckless abandonment,
pulled up
short
before the crash
obliterating
reality’s
nonsense.
I flew then
for a while,
lost to reason’s
purpose,
bathed in light
sharp against
my retina,
colours faded
to acute contrast,
rods only,
no cones.
A blink in time,
a truth eternal,
flight lessons
remembered,
regeneration of
cause.
An apt metaphor for understanding the ‘birds-eye view’ and the similar experience of our own lives. Beautiful poetry, as usual. And inspiring, to start the week off.

You on holidays again? Or did you take a sip of that ‘bottled relaxation’ again 🙂 Regardless, beautiful poem!

Noooo….that’s illegal 🙂 Just keep remembering that space and why it made you feel so good. Let them get upset because your happy and they aren’t 🙂

Not relinquishing the wings, Mark. Just folding them carefully. 😉

I always get a bit like that too when I fly. 😉

Beautiful writing, felt myself gliding, and relaxing, and most of all the final three words, “regeneration of cause”.

Thanks, Daniel. Happy landings. A flight now and again renews cause I find. 🙂

Thanks for that one mama, one soars reading it, truly. The moments of acute being-ness, clarity, divinity or whatever you wanna call it… Many a time reached through writing… Or a beautiful smile, leaves on the sky, or a cool glass of water. The sight of a bird soaring… Thanks.

You’re right, Somanyrightways. There are indeed so many right ways. I couldn’t help it! It would have been an opportunity lost. 😉
