I was just making dinner. And then out pops this little lot. The whole thing feels more like a song than a poem. Although what is a song if not a poem set to music? I’m not editing this at all. Just as it came. And now humming a tune that may fit. Wish I played guitar. Have to let the subconscious work on a melody. Hope it doesn’t feel too cheesy. That might be because of what I’m cooking. 😉
There’s history there for the taking,
We made it but let it grow cold.
Not one of those words I was faking
Tho’ the story is one often told.
Two souls that united but parted
While around us stormy winds blew.
How could I have known when it started
How much I’d grow to love you?
Now the breeze is balmy and steady
But the hurt lives on in my heart.
Tell me, my love, that you’re ready
To try again, make a new start.
No one can hurt like a lover
When the scars, though they fade, still ache.
There never will be another
While there’s a chance we may take.
Believe in the story that grew then,
Remember the times that we shared.
Take comfort in knowing you’re still chosen
And nothing can make me feel scared.
Now the breeze is balmy and steady
But the hurt lives on in my heart.
Tell me, my love, that you’re ready
To try again, make a new start.
How many loves have been lost to
Stories begun but collapsed
In a world where true love is too few
And questions are filled with perhaps?
Now I’m just a lost, lonely lover
With a story to tell just like you,
Secrets that some may uncover,
No story when love is still true.
For the breeze is balmy but steady
And our hurts live on in my heart
But I’m telling you, darling, I’m ready
To live again right from the start.
This is just beautiful and so full of love and anguish and wanting. I just love it.

Thanks Hillary. There’s definitely a bit of all of that in there. And I’m still humming a tune unfinished. 😉 x

Beautiful. Happy, sad and hopeful. All the elements of a great love story. We have the Unchained Melody, how about the Melody Returns? Did I hear cheesy? Great poem/ lyrics.

Just as well it was cheddar I was using! I quite like it myself. I never even thought of it as a guy’s song. I don’t see my son strumming this one for me though. But I might work on my daughter. Think I’ll go wake her! Once I work out the melody. I’m glad you liked it, Susan. We cheese fans must stick together. 🙂 x

Mmm, very good. Now writing music for the multitudes of singers out there. With the book as well, you are really going places momus. Fame and fortune awaits! 🙂

Nah, it was just dinner awaiting. Maybe I should do a cook book too. 🙂
And now I’ve wakened with a tune running through my head. This writing malarkey really takes its toll on sleep. 😉 Thanks, Mark. I think I’ll let you choose the poems for this book or I might never sleep right through again!x

lol. Ok…how about you put a voting system on each poem so people can vote. All those poems that get the 10 out of ten are it 🙂 First 100 go into the e-book. Simple. Um, does wordpress have a voting app? Somebody reply and let mommus know…her fame awaits her, plus I’m actually curious if there is an app to use. It would give good feedback 🙂

Gawd, I wouldn’t put anyone through that. That would be labour intensive. Nope. If there’s a book there, it’ll have to be my labour. 😉
There is a voting app in the tools btw. You can create polls and embed into posts. You can construct various types and use them for whatever. Go into the dashboard and click on the Feedback icon. From there you can mess about with polls. I don’t know all the ins and outs of it or all you can do with it but I’ve used them a couple of times in posts. Now I want to know what you’re going to use them for. 🙂 x

I’m just…thinking…(now that could be dangerous 🙂 ). There has been a little uproar over the last few weeks with a pile (and I say that with tongue in cheek) of politicians getting roasted by our ICAC (Independant Commision Against Corruption). So far, ICAC 6 (and possibly more) – Politicians 0. And just to show how deep it goes, our very own Barry O’farrell, Premier of NSW resigned this morning because he had his fingers in the till…with more to come.
I’m like a kid at a puppet show, the stupidity’s plus the ego’s are unbelievable. Every second word out of their mouth is ‘I can’t remember’. If it wasn’t so incredible I’d laugh. As it is, I’m so disgusted I can’t even cry.
I think I might go steal something and just tell the police ‘I can’t remember’. And the atrocity of it all. they’ll just walk away with the odd resignation. If it was you or I, we’d be in jail for a very long time.
Sorry, starting to blow my bugle 🙂
Was just thinking of stirring the pot with a website, to get an honest opinion from the public and just see how many people are sick and tired of this deceit, lies and thumbing their noses at us ‘the people’ that are forced to vote for this stupidity every 4 years. It’s like…here, use your Democratic right to be sh*t on or pee’d on from a great height. Oh, I’m so excited, which way should I go!
Right, that’s enough, time to go and sleep on it…maybe something will come up from spirit in my sleep 🙂

I’ve spent most of today reading and writing about politics/corruption again. And some Quantum Physics thrown in for good measure. Can’t beat a bit of particle theory to help understand global perceptions and mistaken mythology in understanding our world. And how we might go about analysing possibilities for change that are unifying and address the new chaos that is erupting around the world.
Here’s a fab link I was on today.
And another one

Cole’s blog is just fabulous. She’s coming to Glasgow in September, she’s pretty sure. We’re gonna go out and put the world to rights over a few jars and a meal. Fancy joining us?!
Do a poll. I’ll reblog gladly. Up to here and beyond for what passes for democracy and honesty.
Sleep well. Spirit’s on the move. x

Mmm, interesting read’s. It actually gets a bit scary when you really do start looking deeper.
To do the type of website needed requires some serious coding….leave it with me and I’ll see what I can concoct 🙂

A rather unexpected side effect of making dinner. But then I had been reading through lots of letters previously. I’d forgotten about that. Might account for some of it. Thank you for reading and commenting, Maryrose.x
